Valenciá De’La Clay-Bell is the author of “G.R.O.W. Productivty Guide: 100 Self-Paced Strategies“ to help learners overcome mental barriers hindering their creativity. Hailing from Harlem and grown in Greenburgh, New York, she co-founded multiple non-profits, created an international art program, and self-published a guidebook to promote cultural consciousness.
As a former middle grades teacher and dedicated social scholar, Valenciá became an influential content creator by aligning her social media platform with her classroom. She shared valuable insights on education, inclusivity, mental health, and her emotional journey. Her efforts created numerous opportunities for historically marginalized learners and inspired many teachers to create spaces to publicly share their own classroom experiences, sparking a teacher social media movement that highlighted the realities of education and students' needs in impactful ways.
In her current work as a lecturer at her alma mater, Morgan State University, she is intimately familiar with the challenges faced by her first year college learners, who show progress from her engaging lessons, rooted in literacy, autonomy, and art, to bridge traditional education with creative freedom.
Her personal struggles with managing traumatic thoughts while learning inspired the pursuit of a PhD in trauma-informed educational practices and certifications to become an Adaptive Somatic Psychedelic Art-Therapy Facilitator.
Valenciá pivots from a professor to bookshop owner and barre belle facilitator, offering differentiated support to enhance productivity and creative achievement to diverse learners spanning across ages 12 to 80.
Valenciá De’La Clay-Bell remains inspired by issues of mental health and education and is committed to deepening her knowledge of movement and psychedelics, underscoring her goal to design innovative learning interventions for years to come.
